It's finally here! We are so excited for the launch of Sir Thomas Tyldesley's Regiment's brand new, shiny website!
Sir Thomas Tyldesley’s is one of the regiments that makes up the King’s Army within ECWS and we hope that you’ll be able to come and meet us at one of our events across the country. Alongside the other regiments of the English Civil War Society, we stage battle displays, commemorative marches and authentic living history demonstrations to help bring the past to life and help demonstrate why the Civil War was referred to as ‘the world turned upside down’.
However, Sir Thomas Tyldesley’s is not only about providing exciting and high quality battle and living history displays across the country but also about having fun doing so. Our members are all volunteers who travel from across the country to take part in events and form life- long friendships whilst having a very different hobby to talk to their friends about. We are a very welcoming and inclusive group and always keen to help new recruits get involved, even if it’s just for a ‘one-off’ weekend.
We also have lots of resources to help students learn about the English Civil War; Tyldesley’s, alongside the wider English Civil War Society, have formed several school partnerships and can help provide resources or even a reenactor in your classroom. We are creating lots of resources on the war for use in schools; don’t forget to check our education pages or get in touch to see if we can help with your requirements.
