Meet the members - Pip

Updated: Aug 2, 2020

We know that it can be a little intimidating contacting a society out of blue if you don’t know anybody at all. But don’t let that put you off getting in touch with us! We are a friendly group, love meeting new people and will make you feel very welcome from the moment that you arrive. Our members come from all walks of life and span the generations so there is no need to worry about not fitting in or being out of place. This month, we'd like to introduce you to Pip.

I'm Steve, also known as Pip, and I am a Conductor of Ordinance (commonly known as a gun captain). This means that, within Tyldesley's regiment, I am very involved with the in the artillery crew and, as part of this, I get to fire a cannon which is a lot of fun.

Just as much fun though is being part of the Tyldesley 'family' (not as creepy as that might sound!) and sitting around the campfire in the evening with a drink and having a chat and a sing-a-long. I'm not much of a singer but I love to listen to the others doing their pieces.

Find out more as Pip and I chat about joining Sir Thomas Tyldesley's, why he enjoys the artillery so much and some of his amazing photographs.
